To determine the effectiveness and speed of symptom relief of a vaginal cooling device (VCD) in the treatment of Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). VVC causes itching, burning, pain or irritation, erythema, edema, excoriation and impacts quality of life, loss of confidence and self-esteem, and difficulties with sexual relations. Standard oral and local antifungal therapy have shortcomings including delayed symptomatic relief, increased drug resistance, decreased efficacy, side effects, and drug interactions. There is an unmet need for a more effective non-medical treatment for VVC.
